New NXT Women’s Champion Crowned At Takeover, New Champion Reacts

It was officially confirmed that Asuka would be joining the WWE main roster a few months ago, but her call up was bittersweet. The Empress of Tomorrow managed to remain undefeated during her entire NXT run, but she had to vacate the NXT Women’s Championship before leaving the brand after she was injured during her match at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III back in August.

Asuka has since officially joined the Raw brand, and she’s been featured as one of the top stars in the women’s division. She’ll be competing in the women’s Survivor Series match on Sunday night, but on Saturday she decided to stop by NXT Takeover: WarGames.

Nikki Cross, Kairi Sane, Peyton Royce and Ember Moon all competed for the vacant NXT Women’s Championship in a fatal 4-way match on Saturday night, and in the end it was Ember Moon who won the belt for the first time in her career.

Following the match Asuka presented Ember Moon with the title belt.

After the show Asuka posed for a picture with Ember Moon backstage and congratulated her.

Ember also commented on the win saying that her night couldn’t have been better.
