The New Day and The Usos have been feuding over the SmackDown Tag Team Titles for months now, and they went to war at Hell in a Cell. Both teams pulled out all the stops, but in the end it was The Usos who walked out with the belts after they placed a chair on Xavier Woods’ chest and hit a double splash from the top rope.
The New Day and The Usos kicked off SmackDown Live this week, and The Usos cut a promo talking about how much they respect The New Day. They said that The Usos and The New Day run the tag team division on SmackDown, and then The Hype Bros made their way out into the arena.
Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin then came out, followed by Breezango and The Ascension.
Daniel Bryan then told The Usos and The New Day to get out of the ring and the fans booed.
Bryan then booked a fatal 4-way match between The Hype Bros, The Ascension, Gable and Benjamin and Breezango and he said that the winners would get a shot at the SmackDown Tag Team Titles.
The match featured a lot of back and forth action, but the end came when Benjamin and Gable hit a double team move on Tyler Breeze, then Benjamin pinned Breeze to win the match.
