This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw kicked off with a big battle royal to determine the new number 1 contender for the Intercontinental Championship. The Miz and Maryse sat at the commentary table and watched the potential championship contenders throw each other over the top rope as they battled for the right to challenge for the IC Champion.
The final 5 came down to Ziggler, Del Rio, Apollo Crews, Darren Young and Baron Corbin. Apollo Crews eliminated Del Rio, then Dolph Ziggler was eliminated by Baron Corbin who dominated most of the match. Crews then went after Corbin and they ended up throwing each other over the top rope.
Darren Young was sitting in the corner, catching his breath, as Corbin and Crews eliminated each other. Young then started smiling when he realized he had won the match. Darren’s life coach Bob Backlund then made his way into the ring and he picked Darren up to celebrate. The crowd then responded with a loud “Darren Young” chant.
