Now that Raw and SmackDown have two separate rosters each show will be getting their own brand exclusive pay-per-views following SummerSlam.
WWE will be bringing back some old school pay-per-view titles for the events, and the first brand exclusive pay-per-view after SummerSlam will be Backlash. The show will be presented by the SmackDown brand, and it will take place on September 11th from the Coliseum in Richmond, VA.
The SmackDown brand will also be bringing back another old school pay-per-view when WWE No Mercy returns in October.
No Mercy will take place from the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, CA on October 9th and tickets are set to go on sale Friday, August 19th at 12:00 p.m. PST.
Stars being advertised for the show include WWE Champion Dean Ambrose, John Cena, AJ Styles, Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt, The Miz, Dolph Ziggler, Alberto Del Rio and more.
This will be the first time that the No Mercy pay-per-view has aired on WWE programming in quite some time as the last No Mercy pay-per-view aired in 2008. The event was headlined by the Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels ladder match for the World Heavyweight Championship, which many consider to be one of the best matches of both men’s careers.
