WrestleMania is WWE’s biggest show of the year and The Rock announced back in February that WrestleMania 42 would take place from the Superdome in New Orleans. However, it was recently reported that WrestleMania 42 has been pulled from New Orleans, and the new location has yet to be officially revealed.

Now NOLA.com is reporting that WWE leadership decided they would rather hold WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas next year and see what response they get from fans.

“After the success of this year’s event, the new leadership running WWE decided that they would rather hold next year’s event in Las Vegas and see what response they get from fans, according to an industry official who wasn’t authorized to be quoted by name.”

WrestleMania 41 aired live from Allegiant Stadium on April 19 and April 20, and the event was attended by 124,693 fans over both nights. It was the highest grossing WrestleMania in the history of WWE.

According to the report WWE informed New Orleans sports and tourism officials on Thursday that WrestleMania 42 was no longer planned for New Orleans. Walt Leger, head of New Orleans & Co. also noted that the city is working with WWE on dates for possible future events.

“We’ve worked with them for the last several days to try to identify some future dates and future events to bring to the city,” Leger said.

Stay tuned for more updates on WrestleMania 42 as they become available.
