The New Day are one of the most charismatic teams on WWE programming, and they’ve been featured prominently in the tag team division for the past few years. Earlier this summer New Day made their debut on WWE SmackDown Live, and they wasted no time going after The Usos and the SmackDown Tag Team Titles.

The team managed to capture the SmackDown Tag Team Titles when they faced off against The Usos at Battleground. But many fans were surprised to see them drop the belts back to The Usos at SummerSlam, and some people didn’t event see the match because it aired on the SummerSlam kickoff show before some of the fans who had tickets even arrived at the arena.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that WWE is considering having The New Day win the titles more times than any other team in history, which might explain why their latest run was so short.
The New Day are already the longest reigning WWE Tag Team Champions of all time, and the idea is to build them up as the so-called greatest tag team of all time down the line.
The current tag teams holding the record for most WWE Tag Team Title reigns are The Hardys and Edge & Christian who both have 7 title reigns. The New Day currently have three title reigns.
