The New Day have had an incredible run with the Tag Team Titles, and they’ve been champions since August 23, 2015 when they won the belts at SummerSlam. This week on Raw The New Day kicked off the show by hyping up the fact that if they retained their belts this week, at midnight they would tie Demolition’s record as the longest reigning WWE Tag Team Champions ever.
They cut a promo before the match saying that if they tied the record it would be big for not only them, but also anyone who has ever supported the New Day. Xavier Woods dedicated the match to his grandmother, and the crowd started chanting “Grandma! Grandma! Grandma!”
The New Day defended the Raw Tag Team Titles against Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows and Cesaro and Sheamus in a triple threat match, and it was The New Day who walked out with the gold.
The end of the match came when Kofi Kingston hit Sheamus with Trouble in Paradise to retain the belts.

After the match was over The New Day threw a big celebration party backstage, and they accidentally covered Stephanie McMahon in champagne. She flipped a big bowl of Booty-O’s over, then left the room.
Stephanie later agreed to give Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho a Tag Team Title shot on Raw, so it looks like the night isn’t over for the New Day. Mick Foley later added Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins to the match to make it a triple threat. Stay tuned.
