When AEW first launched the company produced four pay-per-view events per year, but the AEW PPV schedule has since grown with the addition of shows like Forbidden Door, All In and WrestleDream.
It’s been rumored that AEW could be expanding their pay-per-view schedule in the future and now a new trademark filing is getting some attention from wrestling fans.
Fightful reports that AEW recently filed to trademark “World’s End” for the purposes of live wrestling on October 25. The description for the trademark filing reads as follows:
“Mark For: WORLDS END trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of entertainment services in the nature of live wrestling performances; Entertainment services in the nature of production of wrestling programs and events; Entertainment services, namely, an ongoing multimedia program featuring wrestling distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; Entertainment services, namely, production and distribution of ongoing television programs in the field of wrestling; Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests.”
So far AEW has not confirmed any names for potential new pay-per-views, so it will be interesting to see what the company does with the “World’s End” trademark.
