Last week Naomi was originally scheduled to defend her WWE Women’s World Championship against Iyo Sky on Raw. However, Naomi was pulled from the show as WWE announced ahead of Raw that Naomi was not medically cleared to compete. Over the last week there’s been a lot of speculation regarding why Naomi was pulled and the WWE Women’s World Champion addressed her status during Raw on Monday night.
Raw General Manager Adam Pearce introduced Naomi and she made her way down to the ring with the WWE Women’s World Championship. Pearce exited the ring and Naomi got emotional as she stated to speak.
She told the fans to look at the tron as footage of Naomi and Jimmy Uso on Stephanie McMahon’s “What’s Your Story?” podcast was shown. Jimmy Uso officially confirmed during the clip that Naomi is pregnant, and a baby is on the way. After the clip aired Adam Pearce got back into the ring and congratulated Naomi.
Naomi got upset and said that she’s not relinquishing the title. She scared Pearce off and told him to get out of her face as the Raw General Manager left the ring. The champion told all the women in the locker room that they should be thanking Big Jim, because without him they wouldn’t have a chance at taking the title off her. The fans chanted “you deserve it.” She joked that this means The Bloodline will continue and the fans chanted “Baby Uso.”
The champion then placed the title on the mat and warned the women’s division. She told everyone that in nine months she’ll be back to reclaim the WWE Women’s World Championship. As Naomi closed out her promo she advised whoever wins the title to proceed with caution.
Details regarding how a new champion will be crowned were not revealed, but Michael Cole indicated that more information will be provided next week on Raw. It was also announced that a bonus episode of the “What’s Your Story?” podcast with Naomi and Jimmy Uso will be dropping immediately after Raw.
