Murphy Comments On WWE Changing His Name

For years Murphy was known as Buddy Murphy, but a few weeks ago WWE decided to make a change when they dropped his first name.

Now he’s simply known as Murphy, and he’s been involved in one of the biggest storylines on Monday Night Raw ever since he aligned himself with Seth Rollins.

Murphy and Seth Rollins are set to defend the Raw Tag Team Titles against The Street Profits at Super ShowDown, and Montez Ford recently joked that, “Murphy was hit so hard he lost his first name.”

The current Raw Tag Team Champion responded by saying that he sacrificed his name when he posted the following:

“Words of a Moron! – I sacrificed my name for the greater good! Our names are carved into history.. the right side of history! Phase 1: complete!.. Phase 2: Retain!”
