There’s been a lot of talk in recent months about Natalya’s contract status as it was reported that her deal was set to expire this summer. Recently PWInsider confirmed that the former SmackDown Women’s Champion signed a new deal that will keep her with the company.
Fightful Select reports that the deal was completed in late June shortly before her contract expired. Natalya was not at Raw last week, and has not been at any of the WWE shows since she re-signed with the company. It’s also been confirmed that the new deal is a multi-year contract.
WWE started talks with Natalya in May and it’s being said that she was looking to make sure the outside projects she was working on would line up with the terms of the deal.
According to the report there was interest in Natalya from outside of WWE, but most companies expected her to stay with World Wrestling Entertainment. Multiple companies were also interested in her husband TJ Wilson as a producer.
WWE learned that it was a real possibility they could lose Natalya and wanted to get her signed to a long-term deal before she became a free agent.
