How Much WWE Talents Knew About Big PPV Change

It’s official, WWE confirmed today that brand exclusive pay-per-views are coming to an end. The change has been rumored ever since an e-mail was sent to fans who purchased tickets for Backlash announcing that stars from both brands would be appearing at the event, and it looks like Backlash will usher in this huge change for WWE pay-per-views.

PWInsider is reporting that WWE talents were not told about this big change ahead of time, and WWE officials declined to comment on what the move meant going forward.

The big change could mean less exposure for some stars on the WWE main roster, as there’s only so much room on the card, and titles from both brands are now expected to be defended at each monthly event. This also means that the overall PPV schedule has been reduced as WWE will air 12 PPV events in 2018.

The change will also mean the end of Sunday evening live events for brands when PPVs air on the WWE Network.

It’s also been noted that there is talk backstage that all pay-per-views will be expanded to 4 hours, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet.

You can check out the updated PPV schedule below:

WrestleMania 34 – April 8, 2018

WWE Backlash – May 6, 2018

WWE Money in the Bank – June 17, 2018

WWE Extreme Rules – July 15, 2018
