John Cena hasn’t been seen in WWE since WrestleMania 33 when he proposed to his girlfriend Nikki Bella in front of 75,000 fans.
Cena has since gone on to work on projects outside of WWE which include the sequel to “Daddy’s Home” starring Mark Wahlberg, Will Farrell and Mel Gibson and “The Pact” a comedy about father’s preventing their daughters from conducting in certain activities during prom night.
Around the same time that Cena is scheduled for a WWE return, another mockumentary that he has been part of is set for release. “Tour De Pharmacy” takes a light-hearted look at drugs within professional cycling.
John’s expected return date is the July 4th episode of SmackDown Live but it seems that the blue brand is managing well without him, following last night’s Backlash event.
Even though The Miz has moved over to Raw recently, it seems that he still holds a grudge against his WrestleMania opponent. Miz spoke as part of a media event in France where he stated that “It’s a good thing” that Nikki Bella and John Cena are not in WWE right now.
Miz kept his heel persona throughout the interview, but it did seem to reveal that there is unfinished business between the duo.
“One good thing about Nikki Bella and one good thing about John Cena? They’re both gone from the WWE right now. There’s your good thing for both of them. Oh, you’re a big John Cena fan? Are you gonna cry because he’s not gonna be at the show today? What are you five?”
SmackDown recently removed John Cena from their opening video and it seems that the brand has attempted to paper over the cracks since Cena and Nikki left the company nearly two months ago. Is Miz right? Is it a good thing that Nikki and John are not on the SmackDown roster anymore.
