WWE’s events in Saudi Arabia have become quite controversial over the last few months, and a few of the company’s top stars have pulled out of the upcoming Super ShowDown pay-per-view which is set to air live on Friday, June 7.

Fightful first reported that Kevin Owens declined to go the event, and Wrestling Observer Radio later reported that one half of the SmackDown Tag Team Champions, Daniel Bryan, will not be going to the event either.

Post Wrestling is now reporting that Sami Zayn and Aleister Black will also not be part of the event.

The specific reasons for their absences were not revealed.

Sami Zayn was reportedly pulled from the Greatest Royal Rumble event due to a strained relationship between Saudi Arabia and Syria. Zayn is of Syrian descent.

Kofi Kingston has been feuding with Kevin Owens for weeks, but Dolph Ziggler returned on Tuesday and inserted himself into the WWE Title picture.

It’s been confirmed that Kingston will be defending the WWE Championship against Dolph Ziggler at Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia.
