More Details On WWE Firing Billy Gunn

Last week wrestling fans were a little shocked to find out that WWE had fired Billy Gunn. Billy Gunn was fired due to the fact that he tested positive for performance enhancing drugs back in July at a power lifting competition. WWE was not aware of the test or the fact that Billy Gunn was even entering power lifting competitions.

It was noted by Bryan Alvarez on a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Live that it’s believed only contracted talents get tested at the WWE Performance Center not the coaches. This would explain why the company never picked up on the fact that Billy Gunn was using performance enhancing drugs. When word got out that Gunn had tested positive for performance enhancing drugs WWE made the decision to fire him because it hurts the reputation of their developmental program.

Now WWE is searching for someone to replace Billy Gunn in developmental. It’s being reported that they’re currently considering two names to replace him. Stay tuned.
