For months now Edge has been teasing new recruits for his stable The Judgement Day, but in a shocking turn of events the group turned on him after Finn Balor joined on Monday night.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that The Judgement Day turning on Edge was a last minute idea. Edge was told that WWE wanted to go in a supernatural direction with the group, and Edge didn’t like the idea, so they took him out of the group.
It was noted that WWE has a direction for The Judgement Day and Edge didn’t want to be a part of it. Now that he’s a face he will likely feud with the group.
After Finn Balor, Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest attacked Edge this week on Monday Night Raw, WWE posted an update saying that Edge suffered a “non-displaced orbital floor fracture.” It’s not clear at this point in time when the Rated R Superstar will be returning to TV. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
