This week’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw was the Raw after WrestleMania, and fans expected to see a big show. However, it was recently reported by PWInsider that Vince McMahon was firmly in charge of the episode, and it seems that there were a number of changes made, although it’s not clear if the changes were made directly by Vince himself.
Last week on Friday Night SmackDown, Rey Mysterio formed a new LWO, and Fightful Select reports that the LWO was originally supposed to be featured on Raw, likely in a segment with Bad Bunny. Cody Rhodes was also set to be featured in a backstage segment where he was talking on the phone, but that segment was eliminated from the show by Monday morning.
Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn won the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 39 over the weekend, and they faced off against The Street Profits in a non-title match on Raw. It’s being reported that internally the bout was referred to as a tag team championship match.
Candice LeRae and Piper Niven were both planned for matches on Raw, but were cut about an hour before the show started. Originally a mini tournament was set for the show to determine the next contender for the Raw Women’s Championship. However, WWE went the WWE Women’s Tag Team Title contender match instead.
There was some speculation online that Seth Rollins’ segment was changed, but it’s being reported that it was always scripted that way. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
