CM Punk became a two time AEW World Champion on Sunday night when he defeated Jon Moxley in the main event at All Out, but it’s what happened after the show that really got people talking. Punk took several shots at Colt Cabana, Adam Page and the AEW EVPs during the post-show media scrum which reportedly led to an altercation involving CM Punk and The Young Bucks.
The Wrestling Observer reports that there was a backstage fight that took place after Punk made the comments at the post-show media scrum where Punk started things by swinging at Matt Jackson of The Young Bucks.
Fightful Select reports that Punk’s trainer Ace Steel was involved according to most people they spoke with. It’s also being said that Nick Jackson got “rocked” after Ace Steel threw a chair at him. Steel also allegedly got physical with Kenny Omega and ended up biting him and grabbing him by the hair during the altercation.
At least one of the coaches in AEW was said to be “very torn up” over what happened, and some people believe there could be legal ramifications following the altercation. There were reportedly several people who tried to de-escalate the situation.
Tony Khan was not present for the fight as he was at the post-show media scrum. Talent who immediately followed Punk at the media scrum apparently had no idea what was going on either. So far no one from AEW has publicly commented on the situation. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
