Alberto Del Rio made his shocking return to WWE on Sunday when he won the US Title. It’s been reported that Del Rio will be working a reduced schedule and according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, he will be making $1,450,000 a year with the downside guarantee. WWE feels he’s worth the money as they are in need of a top Hispanic star.
Alberto Del Rio is still the current AAS Mega Champion and he wanted to stay on good terms with the company which is why he notified AAA officials Konnan and Dorian Roldan about the deal. AAA could not match WWE’s offer and they were said to be disappointed but there are no hard feelings.
Alberto Del Rio reportedly pushed for WWE to allow him to finish his AAA dates. AAA is under the impression that Del Rio will be working the November 2nd show in Nuevo Laredo which would mean he would miss Raw in Denver on Monday. If Del Rio does work the event on Monday as opposed to Raw it would likely be because he insisted to work it.
Alberto Del Rio was scheduled for more AAA dates while WWE is in Europe next month but it remains to be seen whether or not he will work them.
