More AEW Stars Have Reportedly Asked To Be Released

Malakai Black has been a hot topic recently as it was reported that the former NXT Champion requested to be released from his contract with AEW. It was also recently reported that WWE had contacted some AEW stars who are currently under contract.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Malakai Black was one of the people that WWE reached out to even though he had a five year deal with All Elite Wrestling. The belief is that Black is under a non-compete clause that allows him to work, but not for WWE.

It was also noted that after Triple H took over WWE contacted a number of former stars who either left or were fired when Vince McMahon was in charge. Malakai Black was not the only wrestler to ask for his AEW release at the time.

Other people who were happy with AEW and didn’t want to be released contacted management which led to AEW’s legal department sending a threatening letter to WWE. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
