We had a ton of questions about the brand extension draft last year, but two of the biggest questions this writer had were: Are they going to break up The Club (they did) and which brand is getting Money in the Bank? Well, now both of those questions seem to have an answer.
WWE released the locations and dates for the next handful of pay-per-views (which you can see below), and Money in the Bank is being listed as a Smackdown exclusive event.
Over the past few years Money in the Bank has almost become the 4th biggest pay-per-view WWE has to offer. The result of the Money in the Bank ladder match could go on to tell a story that stretches the entire year, and either brand would benefit from having that storyline option.
Money in the Bank is scheduled for St. Louis .Missouri on June 18th and although it is uncertain whether or not they will trade this important pay-per-view concept off with Raw every other year, at least it is confirmed Smackdown gets it in 2017.
Other confirmed events are:
Payback – April 30th, 2017 in San Jose, CA
Backlash – May 21st, 2017 – No Confirmed Location
Extreme Rules – June 4th, 2017 in Baltimore, Maryland (Raw Exclusive)
Money in the Bank – June 18th in St Louis, Missouri (Smackdown Exclusive)
Summerslam – August 20th, 2017 in Brooklyn, New York (Combined Event)
Survivor Series – November 19th, 2017 in Houston, Texas (Combined Event)
Royal Rumble – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (Combined Event)
WrestleMania 34 – New Orleans, Louisiana (Combined Event)
