Back in June, MJF cut a scathing promo on Tony Khan where he demanded more money and then he disappeared from AEW programming for months.
MJF returned to AEW at the All Out pay-per-view back in September and he won a guaranteed shot at the AEW World Championship when The Firm secured the poker chip from the casino ladder match and handed it to him. A few weeks ago it was announced that MJF would be challenging Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship at Full Gear and the tension between MJF and Mox has been building ever since.
As soon as the match kicked off the fans were fully behind MJF and they booed Moxley. Jon Moxley responded by giving the fans the finger, so they booed him even more.
At one point Moxley ran into the ropes and as he was coming back MJF grabbed the referee and Mox ran into the ref. MJF pulled out the dynamite diamond ring, but William Regal came down and scolded him, so he tossed the ring. MJF gave Regal the finger after throwing the ring down.
A new referee entered the ring, and Moxley accidentally knocked the second ref down. Moxley put MJF in the bulldog choke, and MJF tapped, but the ref didn’t see it. Regal told Moxley to get the referee up, and while Moxley wasn’t looking Regal slid brass knuckles to MJF.
MJF hit Moxley with the brass knuckles while the ref wasn’t looking then he pinned Jon Moxley to win the AEW World Championship. William Regal then smiled as he walked back up the ramp and MJF celebrated in the ring with the AEW World Title.
