Last year at the AEW Worlds End pay-per-view, MJF defended his AEW World Championship against Samoa Joe, and it was Joe who walked out with the gold when it was all said and done.

After the match was over, Adam Cole turned on MJF and revealed himself to be the man underneath the devil mask. An Adam Cole vs. MJF match has been a long time coming and the two AEW stars finally faced off at Worlds End on Saturday night the with the Dynamite Diamond Ring on the line. As the match kicked off Matt Taven and Mike Bennett were shown guarding the ring as they looked on.

Early on in the match Adam Cole was busted open. MJF consistently taunted the crowd and did push ups in the ring as Adam Cole struggled to get back up. Throughout the match MJF targeted the ankle that Adam Cole previously broke.

Later in the match Adam Cole managed to bust MJF open. Cole connected with Panama Sunrise followed by The Boom for a two count. He went for The Boom again, but MJF fell to the mat before he could connect.

MJF put Cole in the figure four leg lock, but Adam Cole reversed it. The hold was broken up then MJF approached Taven and Bennett outside the ring. MJF slammed his own head into the steel ring steps and yelled to the ref. As MJF was laid out on the floor the referee assumed Taven and Bennett had attacked MJF, so he kicked them out.

MJF grabbed the Dynamite Diamond Ring, but Adam Cole took it from him when he got back in the ring. MJF hit Cole with a low blow while the ref wasn’t looking followed by the Heatseeker to retain the ring.

After the match MJF grabbed a steel chair and demanded that his music be cut off. He wrapped the chair around Cole’s ankle. Roderick Strong then ran down to the ring as MJF retreated. Kyle O’Reilly stopped MJF at the top of the ramp and threw him back into the ring.

O’Reilly and Strong attacked MJF inside the ring then O’Reilly picked up Adam Cole who hit MJF with the Dynamite Diamond Ring then dropped it on MJF. Cole, O’Reilly and Strong hugged then Bennett and Taven joined them in the ring.
