On Sunday night the AEW All In pay-per-view aired live from Wembley Stadium, and Adam Cole challenged MJF for the AEW World Championship in the main event.
Adam Cole made his entrance first followed by MJF. The AEW World Champion entered on a throne as he was pushed down the aisle to a set of stairs. MJF then took off his devil mask, walked down the stairs, and made his way to the ring.
As the match started Adam Cole and MJF both got out of the ring and grabbed something from underneath the ring on opposite sides. They then got back in the and put on Better Than You Bay Bay shirts and started wrestling. The match started out as a friendly competition, but things quickly got tense between Cole and MJF.
The fans started to boo Adam Cole as he pulled on MJF’s hair and slammed him into the mat. MJF retaliated by doing the same thing, then Adam Cole responded with a superkick. MJF kicked out. Adam Cole yelled at MJF and pulled off his Better Than You Bay Bay shirt as the fans booed.
MJF and Adam Cole continued to go back and forth trading pins, but both men continuously kicked out. At one point MJF went for Panama Sunrise on Adam Cole, but Cole countered with a superkick. Cole ended up hitting MJF with a suplex on the steel ring steps outside and MJF almost got counted out before he made his way back into the ring at the last second.
They brawled to the outside and MJF went for a Tombstone on the announce table. However, MJF hesitated and said he couldn’t do it. He put Cole down then walked away. When MJF returned to the announce table Cole hit MJF with the Tombstone on the table, but it didn’t break. The fans chanted “a*****e” at Adam Cole as he threw MJF back into the ring and pinned him for a two count.
Adam Cole and MJF traded shots as the fans continued to boo Cole and cheer MJF. Cole hit the Canadian Destroyer on MJF then MJF hit Cole with a superkick and they both fell to the mat.
They pulled themselves up then pointed at each other and yelled “double clothesline!” MJF and Adam Cole hit the double clothesline then pinned one another at the same time. The ref counted the pin and declared that MJF retained the championship because the match ended in a draw. Adam Cole got on the mic then demanded five more minutes. MJF said, “No. Five minutes isn’t enough Adam. We’re going until we got a winner in f******g Wembley!”
They traded pins back and forth and the referee got knocked out. MJF grabbed a chair. He tossed it to Adam Cole, but Cole threw it back. They continued to trade it back and forth as the referee got up. MJF wrapped it around his head and got down on the mat to make it look like he was knocked out. The referee questioned Adam Cole as MJF rolled Cole up. He then went for a superkick followed by Heatseeker for a two count.
Adam Cole hit Panama Sunrise on MJF outside the ring then rolled MJF in the ring for a two count. Cole went for Panama Sunrise again inside the ring, but MJF moved and Cole ended up hitting the ref with the move instead. MJF then grabbed the diamond ring from his trunks and put it on. He went to hit Adam Cole with it, but MJF looked conflicted so he took it off as Roderick Strong got in the ring behind MJF and hit him with a low blow.
Roderick Strong then signaled to Adam Cole and Cole hit the Panama Sunrise followed by the Shining Wizard. Cole pinned MJF, but the ref was slow to count. MJF kicked out at two as the fans went wild. Strong threw the title belt to Cole and told him to use it.
Adam Cole took off his Better Than You Bay Bay shirt then grabbed the belt while the fans booed. Cole looked conflicted so he threw the belt out of the ring as Roderick Strong stormed off. Cole walked toward MJF and MJF rolled him up to win the match and retain the AEW World Championship.
After the match Adam Cole was nearly in tears as he realized how close he was to winning the AEW World Championship. MJF told Cole not to be like that because the fans still love him. Max told Cole he got lucky, and it could have been either one of them. He grabbed the ROH World Tag Team Titles then handed them to Adam Cole, but Cole threw his belt as the fans gasped.
MJF yelled at Adam Cole then threw the AEW World Championship at him and told him to take it. He stood up and turned around then told Cole to get it over with. Cole went to hit MJF with the belt as Roderick Strong returned to encourage him. However, Cole dropped the belt then hugged MJF.
Adam Cole then held up MJF’s arm as MJF celebrated with the belt. The Kingdom then came out to comfort Roderick Strong.
