The Miz defended his Intercontinental Championship in a Fatal 4-Way match at Extreme Rules and he managed to retain his title on Sunday night. The match was action packed from bell to bell but in the end The Miz was able to walk away with the gold by outsmarting his opponents.
Cesaro put The Miz in the Sharpshooter and he crawled to the ropes. Maryse tried to pull Miz out but Cesaro pulled them both back into the ring. Kevin Owens then tried to pin Cesaro but he kicked out. Owens hit Miz off the top, Cesaro hit Owens with the Neutralizer but Sami Zayn broke the pin up.
Sami Zayn then picked up Cesaro and put him in a backslide. Cesaro kicked out. Sami went for another pin but Cesaro kicked out again. Cesaro hits Sami with an uppercut and Sami gets him with a suplex into the corner. Sami went for the Helluva Kick but Kevin Owens superkicked him. Owens hit Cesaro with the Pop-Up Powerbomb and Miz broke the pint up. Miz throws Owens into the barricade and then he covered Cesaro but Cesaro kicked out.
Miz ran into the corner and tried to hit Cesaro but Cesaro threw him over the top rope. Sami Zayn hit Cesaro with a Helluva Kick then Kevin Owens pulled him out of the ring. While Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn were brawling The Miz pinned Cesaro to retain the Intercontinental Championship.
