Mick Foley is a hardcore legend and he had a great time as Raw General Manager before finally being fired by Stephanie McMahon so he could go and have hip surgery that he desperately needed.
But The Mickster obviously had a great time as Raw GM and remembers his time on the road with the Red Brand fondly even though he might not have been in the best health. He had some great interactions with the Superstars and although Foley might be a free agent now who was only with WWE under a handshake deal with Vince McMahon, he is still a part of the WWE Family.
The WWE Hall Of Famer and Hardcore Legend recently spoke to NBC Sports about some of the people he enjoyed working with most backstage. While discussing some of the characters in the locker room he disclosed a rather amusing thing he once told Braun Strowman.
“I tried to bring a certain element of fear to the way I handled Braun Strowman. I had a major talk with him about the importance of throwing things backstage. [laughs] I told him about a legendary basketball game between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Portland Trail Blazers in 1977, when Darryl Dawkins was ejected. I never saw the dressing room after he was done with it, but I heard about it and it was legendary in my mind and I said to him that he had a chance to be Darryl Dawkins after that game.”
“He had the physical presence to do it. He was the one guy who had the strength to throw things around in a way that would be meaningful and I think he really took that lesson to heart. Anytime I see Braun Strowman throwing items backstage, I smile.”
Mick Foley is totally correct because Braun Strowman is certainly the kind of guy you would never want to try and calm down if he was having a fit backstage. Being a Monster Among Men has that kind of advantage.
