In less than two weeks fans will be watching the Royal Rumble pay-per-view which is set to feature the historic first ever women’s Royal Rumble match.
Mick Foley is a man who knows Royal Rumble matches well, as he competed in quite a few of them under different personas. The WWE Hall of Famer recently spoke to The Mirror about this year’s Royal Rumble, and when asked to pick two winners he named Becky Lynch and Sheamus.
“This is a historic rumble, right? The first women’s Royal Rumble, that’s an amazing announcement. I’m picking Becky Lynch to win the women’s Royal Rumble. She is just riding a real wave of momentum. The men’s rumble, you don’t know if it’s going to be one of the really big guys, or one of those guys who has been around for a long time. I’m going with Sheamus. I’m a big fan of The Bar. They’re a team, they are going to help each other and one of them will sacrifice themselves for the other. I’ll say Sheamus.”
You never know when a former WWE Superstar might show up in the Royal Rumble match and try to earn a title shot at WrestleMania.
However, it doesn’t look like Mick has any aspirations of main eventing WrestleMania, as he said that he doesn’t think he’ll ever wrestle a WWE match again when asked about a comeback.
“Ha ha. No, no, WWE has this great programme, the impact testing programme, to measure whether or not somebody is healthy enough to be out there. I wrestled a really physical style and it took its toll. It’s better off for everybody if I don’t participate again. That doesn’t mean I might not show up like I did a couple of years ago at WrestleMania 32 for an unofficial match, but no, I don’t believe I will ever be in a WWE match again.”
