Former WCW World Heavyweight Champion Vader recently announced on Twitter that doctors have told him he only has two years left to live due to heart problems. According to his tweet the problems were caused by stress that was put on his heart from wrestling and football.
Vader is a recognizable name in the world of professional wrestling, and he’s had an extensive career. Throughout the course of his career he’s accomplished a lot, but he has yet to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Raw General Manager Mick Foley spoke out about Vader’s health problems on Facebook saying that he’s known about the situation for a little while now. Mick Foley also noted that he’s talked with officials at the highest levels in WWE, and he’s pushing for Vader to be part of the 2017 Hall of Fame Class.
Mick Foley posted the following on Facebook:
“I have been talking with Leon White the past few weeks, so I knew the news might be coming. But seeing it in print this morning was a shock nonetheless. Leon is dying. He has been told by doctors that he may have less than two years left to live. His legacy is so important to him, and he has told me that being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame would mean so much on both a personal and professional level. On a global level, Vader was one of the greatest attractions the pro wrestling business has ever seen. I have talked with people at the highest levels at WWE, and hope and pray that Leon’s name will be included in the class of 2017 Hall of Fame inductees.”
