Mercedes Mone has been one of the top stars in women’s wrestling for years now and she’s made some big moves since parting ways with WWE in 2022. Earlier this year Mercedes debuted with All Elite Wrestling and she defeated Willow Nightingale to win the TBS Championship in her first match with the company at Double or Nothing.
Even though Mercedes has achieved success her success hasn’t come without criticism. Fans can sometimes be outspoken on social media, and Mercedes Mone decided to send a message to her critics during a recent interview with SI.
“We have no idea who is on the other side of the keyboard. I don’t know if these are bots. I don’t know if it’s someone who looks like you. I don’t know if it’s a witch or rat or whoever, but at the end of the day I don’t care what you have to say about me.”
Mercedes Mone will be in action this weekend as she’s set to defend the TBS Championship against Kris Statlander at the AEW Full Gear pay-per-view. Ahead of the match the current champion made it clear that she’s not taking her challenger lightly.
“I love training for my opponent. I love to try to create different moves and move sets that I can outdo their moves. I made sure I stepped into the ring for Kris Statlander because she is a legit powerhouse in this women’s division. And I definitely won’t take her lightly. My back still hurts from being thrown into the wall.”
