Matt Hardy was advertised to face Randy Orton in a No Holds Barred Match on Raw this week, but he showed up to TV in a neck brace and noted that he couldn’t get cleared for the match.
Instead Randy Orton delivered a brutal beat down to Matt Hardy, and he had to be stretchered out of the arena.
WWE issued a medical storyline update on Matt Hardy following the attack which reads as follows:
“After tweeting from a medical facility in the wake of a vicious attack he suffered at the hands of Randy Orton on Monday Night Raw, Matt Hardy was discharged and returned home earlier today, WWE.com has learned.”
Matt Hardy also commented on the attack saying that he didn’t get what he deserved, but maybe he got what he needed.
