Screenwriter Max Landis was recently a guest on Table Talk and he revealed something interesting about his relationship with WWE. Max is known to be a wrestling fan but he told the hosts that he’s been working for WWE as a consultant for the past year.
“Here’s a secret, I’ve been a consultant on WWE Raw for the last year. I would occasionally say stuff like ‘add another member to the Wyatt Family,’ or ‘make it so the NXT divas come up,’ but I think other people were saying that sh*t too.” Landis said.
He went on to say that he feels WWE needs to put on a cohesive show and that there’s too much separation with the roster.
“You can’t have only the women interacting with the women, the midcard guys only interacting with the midcard guys, the nobody guys only interacting with the nobody guys, and the top guys only interacting with the top guys, because that creates a vortex of boredom.”
So according to Landis he’s been working as a consultant for the biggest wrestling company in the world. But it doesn’t seem like he’s had too much of an impact on storylines. He also said that they don’t listen to him and that his contract is ending soon.
“I think my contract’s finally coming up, and lord knows they don’t listen to me. I might end up continuing to work with them. They’re their own thing. When I brought in there was a sense of ‘Why should we listen to him?’”
Last year Max Landis got a lot of attention from the wrestling world when his video “Wrestling isn’t Wrestling” went viral. You can check it out out below if you haven’t seen it.
