Mauro Ranallo Signs New Multi-Event Announcer Deal

If you miss hearing Mauro Ranallo’s voice on SmackDown Live then you’re not alone. But the fact remains the Bipolar Rock n Roller has bid farewell to WWE and is off to peruse other career opportunities.

Mauro has been keeping himself busy by picking up some announcer gigs since his departure from WWE. He’s commentated for boxing matches and a couple MMA fights. But now Mauro Ranallo has inked a new multi-event deal as a broadcaster and it’s a pretty good one for Ranallo.

PW Insider reports Bellator has signed Mauro Ranallo to a deal that will see him returning to Spike TV for the first time since 2011. Mauro will be commentating alongside Mike Goldberg for the Bellator NYC: Sonnen vs. Silva and Bellator 180: Davis vs. Bader events.

“Mike Goldberg and Mauro Ranallo are two of the best in our business and I couldn’t be happier about them joining the Bellator family,” said Scott Coker. “In addition to June 24, we look forward to working together to make future Spike broadcasts even more exciting for our fans as we add further depth to an already-exceptional broadcast team.”

Spike TV’s SVP of Sports and Specials Jon Slugger went on to put Mauro Ranallo over even more as he said, “the addition of highly-regarded announcers Mauro and Mike to our fantastic lineup of broadcasters, and our first-rate production led by Scott Fishman, further demonstrates our commitment MMA fans and expanding the global Bellator brand.”

Even though we miss Mauro Ranallo on WWE TV we really do wish him the best of luck. Of course it is our hopes that Mauro might be able to return to WWE sooner or later. But in the meantime it’s good to know he’s being taken care of. Mauro is sure to have some fun with this new gig and we’re very happy for him.
