Mauro Ranallo might be seemingly out of the picture for WWE, but he’s not retiring out right. Right now he’s focusing on getting better and feeling the best he possibly can about life.

Mauro Ranallo is trying to take in as many good vibes as possible and enjoy working again. He is currently in Japan preparing to commentate a Rizin Fighting Federation “Rizin FF 5: Sakura” event. If you want to catch the show, it’ll be on the FITE TV service airing Sun. at 2 a.m. ET/Sat. 11 p.m. PT. He is returning to commentating alongside is good friend Frank Shamrock who has been a great supporter of Ranallo’s as he dealt with all his recent career trials.
It’s great to see Mauro is still working and surrounding himself with people who care. Mauro and Frank Shamrock have worked together in Strikeforce and have a history of getting along very well.
Some fans are curious if Mauro Ranallo is entertaining the option of commentating for other MMA companies, specifically an “ultimate” one. One fan asked Mauro if hearing him call a fight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship was out of the question.
Mauro Ranallo was quick to respond as well. It would appear he does have some interest in commentating for the UFC as he used the classic “never say never” line. But then again why wouldn’t he? He would do an amazing job. Also, it would certainly keep the bills paid.
Mauro Ranallo might have cut his commentating teeth in the business in pro wrestling, but he made a name for himself in MMA while commentating for Pride Fighting Championship.
But in the meantime, he’s still under contract with WWE until mid-August so he probably can’t field any major deals until then. There’s also talk that WWE is trying their best to keep him quiet about their internal political climate after he’s gone too. It’s hard to root for Mauro Ranallo and WWE at the same time on this one, but we’re doing our best to hope each side can come to some kind of mutual agreement that benefits all involved.
