Matt Riddle was released from his WWE contract back in September and he has since returned to the world of professional wrestling. During his time with WWE, Matt Riddle had successful tag team runs with partners such as Randy Orton and Pete Dunne.
Recently during a Signed By Superstars virtual signing The Original Bro revealed that there was talk of him forming a tag team with Jeff Hardy, but the idea was dropped because Jeff didn’t feel comfortable with the name.
“We were going to be the Hardy Bros. I love Jeff. We’ve talked multiple times since. Jeff didn’t feel comfortable being the Hardy Bros because of [the] Hardy Boyz. I completely understand it. That’s your team and we’re changing like two letters. I get it.”
Riddle also talked about how Pete Dunne helped him become a better tag team wrestler when he added, “Working with Pete though, Pete elevated my game in tag team wrestling. Before Pete, I was okay at tag wrestling. After Pete, I had something to bring to tag teams, and then when I started tagging with Randy that’s when it really went up.”
