Earlier this year Jeff Hardy made his big debut with All Elite Wrestling and it seemed that fans were thrilled to see him reunite with his brother Matt. The Hardys quickly became one of the top teams in the AEW tag team division, but their momentum was halted when AEW suspended Jeff due to his legal issues.
Matt Hardy recently addressed Jeff’s future on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, and he admitted that he’s not sure if Jeff will be returning to All Elite Wrestling.
“Just very unfortunate, things that happened with Jeff. Hopefully it is something that is, he is going to make into a positive and he’s going to turn everything around in his life and he can come back and be better and we’ll see. I don’t know. I don’t know. Maybe he comes back, maybe he doesn’t. But, you know, we were scheduled to do all kinds of things during that summer.”
Before Jeff was suspended The Hardys were scheduled to face The Young Bucks and Jurassic Express in a triple threat ladder match for the AEW Tag Team Titles. It’s been rumored that The Hardys were going to win the AEW Tag Team Titles and Matt indicated he believed that to be the case when he added, “Yeah, I think we were going to see the Hardys as the AEW World Tag Team Champions if Jeff didn’t suffer that very unfortunate twist of fate.”
Stay tuned for more updates on Jeff Hardy’s status as they become available.
