The official announcement noted that Jeff Hardy will be undergoing surgery on Tuesday, October 3, but a projected date was not given for his return to the ring. Without Jeff Hardy around, Matt is going to have to find a way to keep himself busy because he won’t be competing in the tag team division unless he recruits a new full-time partner.
Due to the fact that the brothers can’t use the Broken Hardys gimmick because Impact Wrestling is claiming ownership of the intellectual property, Matt Hardy has been teasing a Woken Hardys gimmick on social media, but so far the gimmick hasn’t been used on TV.
Matt is once again teasing the emergence of Woken Matt Hardy, and he noted on Twitter that without Jeff around everything is about to change for him.
Ironically enough, one of Jeff Hardy’s previous injuries served as the catalyst for The Final Deletion and the eventual union of the Broken Hardys, so it will be interesting to see what becomes of Matt while Jeff is away.
