Jeff Hardy broke into the wrestling business as a tag team wrestler, but he’s also managed to achieve major success as a singles competitor as well. Jeff managed to capture both the WWE Championship and World Heavyweight Championship during his run with the company, and it sounds like Vince McMahon saw something special in the Charismatic Enigma.
Matt Hardy recently opened up about Vince McMahon’s opinion of Jeff on an episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast and he indicated that Vince was supportive of Jeff and wanted to give him opportunities.
“He saw some intangible essence, force, within Jeff that just drew him to him. Vince loved Jeff. He realized he had this incredible connection with the people that were sitting in those seats, the people that were watching at home. He loved the way Jeff sold. There was something about Vince, he really did like Jeff a lot. Deep down. He was a big supporter of Jeff, and he felt like there was still something very special about him, and he wanted to give him an opportunity to grab the brass ring and see what he would do with it.”
Throughout Jeff Hardy’s runs with WWE he’s managed to capture championship gold on numerous occasions as he is a WWE Grand Slam Champion. Jeff parted ways with WWE last year and he ended up making his debut with AEW back in March. Jeff is currently suspended from AEW as he deals with pending legal issues. Stay tuned for more updates on his return as they become available.
