The Hardys made their triumphant return to WWE a few years ago when they won the Raw Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania 33, but Matt Hardy hasn’t been used much since Jeff was taken out of action due to injury last year.
This week Matt appeared on Raw and confronted Randy Orton, and after a brief scuffle Matt fell victim to the RKO.
According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, the segment was done as a way to write Matt Hardy off WWE TV, and his run with the company is coming to an end.
Matt Hardy’s current deal with WWE is set to expire in March, and it’s been strongly hinted that he will be joining All Elite Wrestling, possibly as The Exalted One, The Dark Order’s leader.
Following the segment on Raw, Matt took to Twitter to say goodbye.
