Matt Hardy recently parted ways with WWE, and this week he made his AEW debut when he appeared on Dynamite.
Hardy has been very clear about letting the world know that he want to enjoy his time in the wrestling business while he still has a few years left, and his main motivation for leaving WWE was creative reasons.
Still, WWE tried to keep him and at one point it was reported that Triple H offered him a role in NXT.
Matt Hardy opened up about his WWE departure on a recent episode of Talk Is Jericho, and he noted that he thinks he would have had a better chance of getting what he wanted if Triple H was in charge.
“I feel like if Triple H would have been the guy who was solely in power, I probably would have had a much better opportunity at getting to do what I wanted creatively, but it is what it is.”
Matt has openly said that he doesn’t think Vince McMahon really got his Broken Matt character.
One way or another it looks like Matt is happy now that he’s with AEW, and it will be interesting to see how he continues to develop his character in the months to come.
