Elimination Chamber matches like most gimmick matches that are overexposed seem to have lost some of their appeal in the past few years. Back in 2002 however when the first elimination chamber match took place at Survivor Series this concept was very fresh and exciting. The match saw the best of the best at the time compete against each other as Triple H defended his title against Shawn Michaels, Booker T, Chris Jericho, Rob Van Dam and Kane in a contest that was anything but dull.
The Shawn Michaels/Triple H feud was very intense at the time and all of the other contestants managed to find themselves wrapped up in it due to the fact that they were chasing the world title. One needs to only look at the names of the people involved in the match to know that it would be amazing and it was. The result was a historic match and the birth of a concept that lives on today. This match not only kicked off the legacy of the elimination chamber but it was also the last time that Shawn Michaels won a world title. Enjoy!
