Reports that CM Punk has left WWE are all anyone can talk about today and it’s understandable. CM Punk has had a huge impact on WWE over the past few years and although he did change things for a short period of time it feels like we’re right back where we started.
CM Punk took the company hostage prior to Money In The Bank 2011 as WWE turned CM Punk’s real life contract dispute into a storyline. There’s no doubt that it was one of the best WWE storylines in recent memory and it got a lot of people talking. The idea that CM Punk was letting his contract run out but also getting a WWE title shot on PPV in his final match with the company was must see TV. CM Punk vowed that he would walk out of the WWE with the WWE title and he did just that.
It was very obvious leading up to this match that CM Punk was honestly frustrated with the direction of WWE and to no surprise he is seemingly frustrated once again. Who knows if CM Punk will be back any time soon but regardless he’s left one hell of a legacy and this match may very well be his best performance in WWE.
