John Cena is without a doubt one of most well known professional wrestlers of all time, and he’s also been trying to make a name for himself in Hollywood. Cena’s name is known all over the world, and one man decided to take John Cena’s name as his own.
The Sun reports that 23 year old Lewis Oldfield was drunkenly play-wrestling with his friends when he was dared to change his name to John Cena. The man then went through with it, and spent £40 for six deed poll documents as proof of the name change, as well as £75 on a new passport.
“We’d had a few drinks and were play-wrestling. We were just messing around, pretending to do announcements like in WWE and one of my friends was introducing John Cena. One thing led to another and they dared me to change my name to John Cena.”
The man went on to say that his mom couldn’t stop laughing, but he has yet to tell his father.
“I was going to get a tattoo saying it but did this instead. I always follow through with dares so I just did it. I’m not even a wrestling fan! My mum couldn’t stop laughing at me when she found out. My dad’s more serious so I’ve not told him yet.”
Lewis Oldfield also confirmed that this isn’t a temporary change as he plans on keeping the name.
