The first ever two night SummerSlam aired live from MetLife Stadium over the weekend and Seth Rollins shocked the world when he successfully cashed in his Money in the Bank contract after CM Punk had just defeated Gunther to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. This week on Monday Night Raw, Seth Rollins kicked off the show as he walked down to the ring alongside Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed.
After Seth got in the ring his music drop out the fans immediately started chanting for CM Punk. Paul Heyman got on the mic and took some shots at Roman Reigns and CM Punk. He then introduced Seth Rollins as the new champion and Seth told the fans to never doubt him again.
Rollins said his plan to cash in was a secret, and the only people who knew about it were his wife Becky Lynch, and Paul Heyman. Seth told the fans that he now has absolute power, and no one can stop him. He said this is the way forward, this is the vision, then LA Knight’s music hit.
The Megastar made his way down to the ring then Seth Rollins invited him in. Knight reminded Seth Rollins that he was the last person to beat him and said he’ll be the next person to beat him, and when he beats him he’s going to be the person to beat him for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. LA Knight challenged Rollins to put the belt on the line on Raw, but Rollins said no.
Rollins started to leave the ring as Adam Pearce interrupted. Pearce said normally he wouldn’t book a title match on such short notice, but normally his WWE World Heavyweight Champion wouldn’t lie to the WWE medical team. Adam Pearce then officially announced that Seth Rollins vs. LA Knight for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship will take place tonight on Raw. He then added that Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed are banned from ringside.
