In the world of professional wrestling some performers are lucky to have long careers, but no one can wrestle forever. Rey Mysterio has done just about all there is to do in the professional wrestling business, and it looks like the Hall of Famer will be looking to retire from in-ring competition sooner than later.
Recently Rey Mysterio appeared on the MMA Hour and he commented on his plans for retirement when he said, “I’m hoping that it can be within the next year and a half or two, maybe.”
Rey Mysterio has previously said that 50 is his ideal retirement age which is in line with the timeline he explained on the MMA Hour as he’ll turn 50 in December of next year.
While Rey Mysterio has clearly given at least some thought to retirement he has a big challenger who is looking to step up as Logan Paul recently issued a challenge for Mysterio’s United States Championship. Mysterio has confirmed that Logan Paul will be appearing on Friday Night SmackDown and all signs point to Mysterio vs. Paul taking place at Crown Jewel.
Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
