A number of WWE contracts are set to expire this year and it was recently reported that Becky Lynch’s deal with the company would be expiring on June 1st. Fightful Select reports that Becky’s deal expired at midnight and she is now a free agent.
According the report WWE was aware Becky Lynch would be taking time off before she won the Women’s World Championship. It’s being said that the company thought it was better for the story if Becky won the title, and there were no concerns that Becky wouldn’t be willing to do business.
People who spoke on the subject noted that no deal or agreement was made at the 11th hour, but WWE has made it clear that they want to continue working with Becky Lynch. Even though major offers are expected to be made toward Becky Lynch people close to her don’t expect the former champion to go anywhere else. Industry sources expect Becky Lynch to get the largest contract offers in the history of women’s wrestling.
WWE sources noted that Becky has handled the situation with class and she communicated that she would be taking time off.
