WrestleMania season has come and gone which means that all eyes are looking ahead to the upcoming WWE Backlash premium live event. This year Backlash is set to take place from San Juan, Puerto Rico, but it looks like at least one big name might not be part of the show as the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Roman Reigns won’t be part of the card.
“Reigns will not be on the San Juan card, or at least that wasn’t the plan on Monday, but he will be doing other major events over the next few months.”
Roman Reigns successfully defended his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 39, and the next night on Raw he declined Cody’s request for a rematch. Later in the night Brock Lesnar destroyed Cody Rhodes to close the show.
The WON is reporting that although it hasn’t been confirmed this week’s episode of Raw seemed to indicate that Brock Lesnar vs. Cody Rhodes will main event the show. It’s also been speculated that Rey Mysterio & Bad Bunny vs. Damian Priest & Dominik Mysterio could take place at the event.
