In the weeks and months ahead the landscape is set to change for WWE in many ways. Raw will be moving to Netflix, SmackDown will be moving to USA Networ, and NXT will be moving to the CW. When WWE signed a new deal with NBCU to bring SmackDown to USA Network it was also confirmed that the deal included live primetime specials on NBC.
WrestleVotes is now reporting that WWE will be announcing a live primetime special on NBC at some point over the next few days. The location for the event is unknown right now, but sources claim that tickets for the show are expected to go on sale next Friday. There’s some speculation that the primetime special will air on a Saturday night in December.
WWE previously aired primetime specials on NBC using the name Saturday Night’s Main Event. It’s not clear at this point in time if WWE will be using a new name, or bringing the Saturday Night’s Main Event name back for the primetime specials.
