WWE has signed a number of exciting names in recent months and it’s been reported that Rusev is expected to return to the company. The former United States Champion was recently spotted at WWE headquarters and now it seems that his WWE return has been confirmed.
During a recent live stream for Fanatics, Big E and Tyler Breeze opened trading cards and at one point they pulled out a Rusev card. That’s when Big E himself noted that he reached out to Rusev who confirmed that he is indeed returning to WWE.
“I reached out to him and he confirmed that the news is indeed true. I don’t know when he’ll be back. A blast from the past and actually it’s very topical because he has just announced that he is returning to the squared circle here in World Wrestling Entertainment.”
Rusev was originally released from WWE in 2020 and he went on to debut as Miro in AEW a few months later. He made his final appearance on AEW programming at the Worlds End pay-per-view in December of 2023, and it was reported earlier this year that he had parted ways with All Elite Wrestling.
Stay tuned for updates.
