The landscape is changing for WWE television as Friday Night SmackDown recently moved to USA Network, NXT is moving to the CW next week, and Monday Night Raw is set to move to Netflix in January. WWE confirmed that Raw will air as a two hour show starting on October 7th, and WrestleVotes recently reported that plans call for SmackDown to become a three hour show in January.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that as of now the WrestleVotes story about SmackDown adding a third hour in January is true. People in WWE noted that nothing is finalized, but it’s likely that the company is waiting to make an announcement.
Regarding how things will work out financially with a third hour being added to Friday Night SmackDown, it’s being said that negotiations between WWE and USA Network are ongoing.
