John Cena recently made his return to the ring a few weeks ago during the final SmackDown of 2022, and he managed to add another win to his resume when he and Kevin Owens defeated Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn.

With WrestleMania season right around the corner there’s been a lot of talk about who Cena’s potential opponent could be, and it looks like the current United States Champion Austin Theory is the frontrunner. Dave Meltzer addressed John Cena’s status for WrestleMania on Wrestling Observer Radio while noting that there was talk of Cena facing Logan Paul, but it’s looking like it will be Cena vs. Theory.

“It looks like it’s gonna be Cena and Theory at ‘Mania, that’s what it’s looking like.”

“It was the plan way, way back but Logan Paul had asked to be against Cena but they never said that. There was definitely talk of Cena and Logan Paul at one point in November/December.”
